The Alerts application allows you to create and save customized alerts according to criteria you specify. Each Alert consists of one or more rules for tracking your visitors or leads. You can create as many alerts as you want, and each alert can contain a single rule or many. The Alert application allows you to create two kinds of alerts:
Your Optify account comes with a collection of pre-defined alerts, which you can edit or reconfigure for your particular needs. You can also create new alerts. If you have more than one site in your organization, note that any changes you make in the alerts application will always apply to the current site.
The left side of the Alerts page lets you choose among the current items in the application. When you select an item in the list, its content is displayed in the content pane.
When you click Add an alert in the left navigation pane, or when you select an existing alert, the alert rule builder opens in the right side of the page. This is the place where you create or edit the rules that will apply to the alert. For detailed information about specific Metrics, and to learn more about how rules work, see About Optify's rules and metrics.
Each rule is essentially a query on Optify's database of information about your website traffic. You create rules for an alert by choosing from a list of Metrics, and applying criteria to those metrics.
For lead alerts, the metrics available are the same as those for Lead Scoring and Exclusions, and are grouped into four categories: Company, Personal, Traffic, and Visitor Goals. The underlying data for these Metrics is derived from a variety of sources, depending on the metric. For detailed information about specific metrics, and to learn more about how rules work, see About Optify's rules and metrics.
For Keyword alerts, there are two metrics currently available: A competitor's keyword rank and My keyword rank.
Metric: Company name Criterion: is Value: Company X, Company Y, Company Z
Note that Separating multiple values by commas will trigger the alert if any of the values is true.
Metric: My keyword rank Criterion: improves by at least Value: 2
